Loc'd up!

Soooo I want locs. I get a bad case of the "hair blahs" about twice a year and drastically change my hair. About a month ago I was inspired by a GORGEOUS picture of Solange Knowles in Urayasu, Japan~~~>

(Loving the minimal makeup! She looks beautiful with the focus on the lashes and pink lip!)

After seeing this pic I decided to chop off my relaxed pixie cut to reveal my natural curls. Mind you, this is not the first time I have gone natural so it wasn't a huge change for me.

I went from this:

Beauty definitely resides here!
I think Lauryn had the best locs EVER! This is my new hair goal! Pray for me ya'll!

What Means the World to You???

Hey Fab Chicks!

This is not makeup post but I think you'll enjoy it. :) While making my usual morning blog rounds I stumbled upon this pic of Melody Ehsani's latest nails ~~~~~>

She calls this: diamond$ n dollar$

Well... My roommates and I thought it was pretty fly sooo one rainy Atlanta afternoon we tried our own version:

No one was willing to sacrifice a dollar for the project so my roomie, the "nail diva extraordinaire" found a bahamian dollar from a spring break trip and we went to work!

We also wanted to try to duplicate the Minx Nails trend AND the Ombre' nail trend.
T0 achieve the Ombre look (color slowly fading from dark to light), we started with a very dark navy blue~~~~>

And mixed a whitish color to lighten it little by little.

SO What do you think??
Too much? Or just gaudy enough?

Not my usual style but, definitely a fun way to spend a rainy afternoon!

VMA 2009 Makeup = ))))

I loved watching the MTV Video Music Awards last night! The performances were AMAZING, the celebrities were there in full effect and the show lived up to all of the hype and build up.

While all of the excitement proved to be a worthy distraction (read: bizarre drunken outbursts *ahem* Kanye)-- We were focused on all of the GORGEOUS makeup! So I present to you some of our favorites of the night:

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift's makeup may be my favorite of the night! I love the matte, red lip, something that seemed to be a reoccuring theme of the evening. This beautiful velvety lip is topped off with a sexy, retro cat-eye and silvery shadow. Beauty definitely resides on her face!

Solange Knowles

Let me just start by saying that I *HEART* Solange! I think she's awesome :)
That being said, I loved her makeup! It reminds me of the MAC Fafi Collection.
The black rimmed eye contrasted with the white accent in the inner corner sets off the pale pink matte lip.

Her full, brows, arched in a natural shape seems to soften the look. We like! Kudos to her beauty team!

Katy Perry

Katy Perry also had FANTASTIC makeup last night!
Silver glitter + Black-rimmed eye + loooong lashes = *Magic*

We loved the look with the silver, sparkly, Dancing With the Stars-esque dress and shoes!
What can I say? I'm a girl, If it sparkles, I'm all over it!

Cassie
Cassie looked great at the awards last night! Her hair, makeup, dress and shoes all worked create a FABULOUS look. She WORKED that new, edgy haircut and her makeup was perfection. With her golden complexion she couldn't go wrong with bronzy cheeks and lips and a black smoky eye. Ladies TAKE NOTES!

Lady GAGA

O.K. Ms. Lady GAGA... She had like 5 costume changes throughout the show, each one crazier than the next lol. But she is who she is and she stays true to her crazy style!
Though her outfits may be up for debate one thing that we can agree on is that we are "GAGA" for her makeup! Honey, the eyes are Fierce!
The black, sparkly shadow makes us even more excited for the upcoming Black Collection from MAC. We've been hearing whispers of black pigment pots with blue, gold, pink, and silver sparkles! *doing happy dance*

Keri Hilson

This is my girl! Love the entire look! From the hair to the the shoes she pulled it off. The lashes and smoky, dark eye make her eyes pop and the nude lipstick is the perfect compliment to balance it out! Heart her!

Overall, the look of the VMAs was dark and sultry. I am sooo ready for fall makeup!!
